A Trip Around Here

Today Janie and I took a quick trip around Fresno so that I could take pictures of the houses I used to live in here when I was a kid.  First though, we had to get fortification.

Then we were on our way.

The earliest house I can remember is this one on  Gettysburg Avenue:

I'm pretty sure it was pink when we lived there and I know we had no fence around it. That's a fairly new thing in Fresno that so many houses have now, I think to try and keep the gangs out.

After that house, we moved to San Diego for a while but then came back and we lived in an apartment building that has since been torn down to make way for the freeway.  From the apartment we moved here to this house on Austin Way, and it too didn't have a fence or gate in front when we lived there.

In the middle of my 6th grade year, we moved to our house on Tyler, which was gray when we lived there and did not have that big wooden gate in front.

After this house, Mom and I moved to an apartment again and from there I joined the Marine Corps.

Once I was done taking picture of houses, we went to downtown Clovis to browse around in the antique shops there.

I saw these morning glories and just thought they were so pretty.

In a couple of stores:

We decided we needed a little bite to eat, so we stopped here and split a roast beef panini that had garlic aioli and gorgonzola cheese on it. It was pretty good.

On to more stores!

And then I had chocolate craving! Yikes! Only one way to fix that!

Which it did. But then I had to have one last coffee. So I did.

So there you go. One really nice day (and even relatively cheap since the only things I bought were coffee and lunch and my two pieces of See's candy). I love days like this.
