Pictures of the Rest of My Week

Went to the fair yesterday for the first time in almost 40 years and boy what a difference. Had a good time though until I got on that ferris wheel, but oh well.

And oh my the food!!

This stand had deep-fried everything:

I had  the deep-fried Oreos:
Really they were just okay.

And then Janie had deep-fried frogs legs (no thanks!):

A few of the exhibit highlights:

Loved this painting in the Arts and Photography Exhibit, two of my favorite things, a bulldog (who almost looks like Cas) and Starbucks.  If this had been for sale I probably would have bought it.

This ewe had just given birth a little while before we walked in. That baby is so cute!

This was the midway, which I remember as being a long straight line with rides and games on either side, but here it was sort of all over the place.

Last but not least, the infamous ferris wheel, and a view from the top:

All in all I am glad I went and had a deep-fried something.

Today was my mom's 80th birthday, and my Aunt Lee and I threw her a surprise birthday party.  She was very surprised and no one managed to give it away by pretty much not talking to her for the week.

Someone brought their invitation so that Mom could have it. I had asked Beau to design one for me and he did this in water colors, and then I printed it off and and backed it with orange cardstock. It turned out really nice.

Her "cake" was cheesecake because I had asked her in just casual conversation what her favorite dessert was. (The lighting sucked because she was against the window)

All the ladies that went, from left to right is Darlene, Jeannie, Mirna, Evie, Aunt Lee, Iva, Debbie, Mom, Vanessa, and Florence.

And that my friends, finished my week.
